Annapurna Technology (晶心科), a supplier of RISC-V silicon intellectual property (IP), notes the continuous expansion of demand in the AI, automotive, and edge computing sectors. The company continues to launch high-end RISC-V processor IP cores, raising both prices and technical thresholds, which contributes to dual-track growth in licensing fees and royalties. While Annapurna Technology did not provide specific revenue growth guidance for 2025, the firm emphasizes that its compound annual growth rate (CAGR) has reached 28% over the past eight years and aims to exceed this rate in the coming years, driven by expanding applications and customer numbers.

In 2024, AI applications accounted for 38% of Annapurna Technology's total revenue, with approximately 70% dedicated to AI training. The company collaborates with prominent AI companies such as Meta, Rain AI, Axelera, and TetraMem. Observing the emergence of low-cost hardware applications for smaller models driven by technologies like DeepSeek, client designs are shifting toward more lightweight and affordable AI solutions.

Regarding licensing and royalty income, Annapurna Technology’s royalties returned to a growth trend in 2024 as customers cleared inventory and initiated production phases for new projects. Over the next three years, royalty revenue is expected to steadily increase alongside continued expansion in shipment volumes of licensed products. Simultaneously, the introduction of higher-end CPU cores will help increase licensing prices and optimize product portfolios.

Annapurna Technology acknowledges intense pricing pressure in China within the RISC-V market but focuses on high-quality applications in sectors such as AI, advanced industrial applications, and automotive markets. The company currently offers two automotive CPU IPs certified to ASIL-B standards and one certified to ASIL-D functional safety standards. Its higher-end 6-series includes support for AI accelerators and Android compatibility, potentially leading to penetration in smartphone application processors (AP).

The market is also monitoring Arm, a British firm, as it enters self-developed chip designs. This could spur more clients toward open architecture alternatives like RISC-V platforms, a shift Annapurna Technology hopes to capitalize on. Future plans include deepening technological research and refining IP product positioning to strengthen penetration in AI and automotive critical applications, ensuring long-term growth momentum.

Annapurna Technology’s Q1 2023 revenue was NT$271 million (approximately $8.96 million), representing a year-over-year increase of 27.3%.
