Beast Kingdom Expands Thailand Production Amidst U.S. Tariffs

As the sole toy concept stock listed on Taiwan's market, Beast Kingdom maintains subsidiaries in California (USA), Shanghai (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Bangkok (Thailand). The company successfully entered Walmart’s retail channels. In response to proposed tariff policies from US President Trump, it activated its Thai factory capacity in February, boosting revenue for the month while enabling flexible production adjustments.
Beast Kingdom is a Taiwanese IP brand that has expanded from American IPs to Japanese ones, developing licensed products and engaging in IP operations and exhibition activities. Currently, their products are sold across 30 countries worldwide; Taiwan accounted for 63% of revenues in 2024, while overseas sales comprised the remaining 37%, reflecting a significant growth rate exceeding 58%.
Beast Kingdom has long focused on the American toy and film merchandise licensing market. In response to US tariffs imposed on Chinese manufacturing (an additional 20%), it began investing in Thai production lines as early as 2023, collaborating with local partners to establish an overseas factory that was activated this February.
The company stated that after two years of adjustment and employee training for the new line, its initial capacity utilization rate is approximately ten percent. They will continue optimizing output throughout the year to improve delivery quality and gradually increase production efficiency due to dealers’ cautiousness regarding orders destined for America as a result of tariff impacts. With flexible adjustments in response to customer needs, normal order volumes are expected to resume.
The first quarter traditionally represents a low season for Beast Kingdom; this was further impacted by China's extended Spring Festival holiday this year. However, with the Thai factory now operational and handling production previously sourced from Chinese orders, February’s revenue of NT$1.04 billion (a 16.13% increase compared to last year) demonstrates an initial positive effect. Since achieving profitability in November last year, operations have continued improving, promising better results than those seen during the same period last year for the first half.
