How Jaden, Nite, and Kewei Revitalized a Failing Company in Five Years
Semiconductor key material supplier Jaden experienced record-high revenue and profits last year, with continued strong growth expected this year. This projection is fueled by collaborations with materials manufacturer Nite and drying equipment maker Kewei, which have strengthened its competitive position.

Having overcome accusations of infringement from US rival Entegris—a dispute that initially threatened nearly 1 billion NT dollars in compensation—Jaden has achieved remarkable success. The company not only captured more than half of Entegris's market share but also reported record-breaking annual revenue of 654 million yuan and an EPS of 123.20 yuan last year.

"We have taken over more than half of Entegris’s market," stated Shen Ennian, Jaden’s operating officer and vice president. The company's growth is driven by robust semiconductor demand in both China and America, as well as its leading position as the "sole provider of complete advanced packaging carriers." This specialization has become a key factor driving this year's business performance.

However, Jaden’s resurgence from near bankruptcy was not solely due to legal victories; strategic partnerships were also crucial. Two pivotal figures in the company’s turnaround story are Chen Xun-sen (陳勲森), chairman of Nite Technology Materials, and Wu Ming-zhi (å³ę˜Žč‡“), CEO of Kewei Industrial.

The collaborative model among these three companies is integrated: Nite provides plastic raw materials that Jaden molds into carriers used for semiconductor production lines such as EUV mask boxes and wafer transfer boxes. Finally, through Kewei's cleaning equipment, the carriers meet stringent cleanliness standards required by foundries.

This cooperative approach has enabled Jaden to dominate over 70% of the global photomask box market, with its share in EUV applications nearing 90%, significantly outpacing Entegris. However, as recently as early 2021, when a legal battle between Jaden and Entegris was settled but private disputes persisted, Jaden faced potential exit from the market.

In January of that year, during a golf outing, Chen Xun-sen recalls Chairman Chiu Ming-chien (邱銘乾) expressing his desire to visit Nite. At the time, both companies shared a plastic raw material supplier; however, under pressure from Entegris, this supplier ceased supplying Jaden, leaving it with only four or five months of inventory.

Chen Xun-sen and Chiu Ming-chien are both recipients of Taiwan's National Association for Innovation & Entrepreneurship 'Entrepreneurial Model’ award. As long-time golfing companions who deeply understood each other’s business challenges, Chen immediately offered assistance when he learned about Jaden’s predicament.
