Smartphone and virtual reality equipment manufacturer HTC announced its March revenue at NT$3.64 billion (approximately USD $125 million), a year-over-year increase of 67.76%, nearly doubling February's figures. For the first quarter, cumulative revenues reached NT$7.08 billion (around USD $243 million), representing an almost 20% rise compared to the same period in 2023.
HTC has launched VIVERSE Create, a platform for unscripted coding and creation of three-dimensional content, as well as its new 3D Content Hosting & Sharing Platform called VIVERSE Worlds. These platforms allow users to easily convert two-dimensional images into high-resolution three-dimensional models. Furthermore, the company鈥檚 proprietary Polygon Streaming technology ensures real-time rendering even in low-bandwidth environments.
The integration of Sketchfab's millions of 3D assets enhances applications across e-commerce, animation, and interactive websites, enabling creators and businesses to rapidly develop flexible immersive experiences that contribute to revenue growth.
HTC also showcased its VIVE Large-Scale Immersive Entertainment Technology (LBE) at a March exhibition with the globally acclaimed experience 'Sagrada Familia: Eternal Gaudi,' demonstrating advancements in XR technology for cultural entertainment. The virtual production system, VIVE Mars, combines AI capabilities to enhance camera tracking and real-time interaction, expanding applications within film-making and content creation.
In addition, HTC鈥檚 subsidiary focused on 5G and future communication technologies, G REIGNS, presented an intelligent factory application driven by AI at the exhibition. This included autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), AI safety monitoring systems, and drone inspections to promote industrial automation in areas such as unmanned warehouses and remote management.
Furthermore, G REIGNS collaborated with MediaTek to demonstrate pioneering 6G hybrid computing technology that integrates smart devices, wireless access networks, and edge cloud resources for ultra-low latency environmental perception and real-time computation鈥攕upporting future critical applications like generative AI, personal digital assistants, smart cities, and immersive XR experiences.
