Samsung Pauses Global One UI 7 Rollout Over Galaxy S24 Unlock Bug

Samsung has temporarily halted its global rollout of the highly anticipated One UI 7 update due to a potential bug that could prevent some users from unlocking their phones. According to The Verge, after receiving reports about this issue, Samsung swiftly paused updates for all models.
Initially, complaints appeared primarily among Galaxy S24 series devices in South Korea; however, out of caution, the company decided to pause global releases across its entire lineup. While a few users may have already downloaded One UI 7, checks using the CheckFirm app confirm that this update has been removed from Samsung servers and is no longer listed as the latest firmware version for several Galaxy models鈥攐lder patches are now available instead.
One UI 7, based on Android 15 (which was released to developers seven months prior), introduces a series of AI enhancements. The rollout began globally starting April 7th across devices like the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold/Z Flip 6 lines, with U.S. users receiving it by April 10th.
Since February, when Samsung launched its new flagship phones (Galaxy S25 models), this update has been available on these newer handsets as well as some lower-priced A series devices. In a statement to Android Authority, the company indicated that One UI 7 rollout plans are being updated "to ensure optimal user experience."
