Agricultural Seeds Company and Taiwan Carbon Assets Announce Partnership to Enhance Sustainability with BEGIN Smart Charging Services
Agricultural Seeds Company has partnered with Taiwan Carbon Asset today to introduce BEGIN smart charging services, creating a stronger sustainable competitive advantage. This initiative aims to alleviate travel anxiety while supporting low-carbon tourism by providing convenient facilities for local communities—aligning the company with international trends toward net-zero carbon emissions and enhancing its global visibility.
“As global warming intensifies and demands for sustainability grow worldwide,” said Chen Weiting, Chairman of Agricultural Seeds Company, “we’ve observed our competitors setting ambitious goals for 2030. As a leading agricultural enterprise in Asia, we believe it's crucial to begin with Taiwan and formulate our own strategy for sustainable transformation.”
Chen further explained that facing evolving market competition, the company is reinforcing its alignment with international net-zero carbon emission trends while gradually strengthening its global competitiveness. The introduction of Taiwan Carbon Asset’s BEGIN smart charging services at headquarters and leisure farms will reduce travel anxiety and support low-carbon tourism initiatives.
Zhang Sanhe, Chairman of Taiwan Carbon Assets, emphasized Agricultural Seeds Company's leadership in the Taiwanese agricultural sector. “We provide assistance across various areas including photovoltaics (PV), sustainability consulting, digital transformation, green power supply transfer, carbon rights management, and achieving carbon neutrality,” said Zhang. "These efforts will support the company’s development at each stage of its journey toward becoming an exemplary sustainable business.”
Agricultural Seeds Company began planning for a transition to sustainability in 2022 with assistance from Taiwan Carbon Asset. In 2023, they completed photovoltaic (PV) facilities within their headquarters area, enabling self-generated and used green energy. The company plans to complete ISO14064-1:2018 greenhouse gas inventory at its headquarters in 2024 and obtain certification for verification of greenhouse gases from the international third-party French Standards Association (AFNOR), marking a significant milestone in their transition toward net-zero emissions.
