The international talent community, Cake, recently released its '2025 Workplace Survey,' revealing that nearly eighty percent of office workers have post-holiday job switching needs and are adopting new strategies. Forty percent of these job seekers actively build professional images on social media to establish personal career brands and attract corporate attention.
Cake’s analysis of the latest employment trends indicates a significant shift: seventy-eight percent plan to switch jobs within this year. The primary drivers for these changes include salary benefits (68%), challenging work content (58%), and clarity regarding promotion systems (38%). Furthermore, an impressive seventy-five percent recognize the importance and urgency of personal brand building as a means to increase income, attract employer attention, and create business opportunities.
According to Cake founder and CEO Liu Junyi, cultivating a personal brand has become integral to career development strategies—particularly in industries or positions requiring professional demonstration and competitiveness. Currently, forty percent of job seekers are intensifying their efforts by developing specialized content; eighty-five percent have actively updated their Cake profiles and portfolios within the last three months alone.
When it comes to building a personal brand, most job seekers believe sharing expert insights (63.9%), successful case studies (57.9%), and daily life experiences (52.5%) can effectively enhance influence. However, they face challenges such as limited time for content creation; balancing these efforts with busy work schedules has become a key concern during this year’s job switching season.
