Sheng He Bio-Technology Co., Ltd., a probiotics ingredient supplier, is scheduled to list on the stock exchange early next month with an anticipated opening price of NT$60 (approximately US$2) per share. The company will hold a pre-listing earnings presentation tomorrow. Chairman Yang Lianchuan stated that Shenghe ranks among the top twenty global probiotic ingredient manufacturers and holds multiple strain patents and formulas, continuously launching innovative products such as those designed for sports performance enhancement and muscle loss prevention.
Sheng He specializes in lactic acid bacteria research, production manufacturing, and application development. The company鈥檚 entire production line adheres to international food safety management systems including ISO22000, FSSC22000, HACCP, HALAL, NSF-GMP, health product GMP standards, as well as the European feed additive quality system certification (FAMI-QS), ensuring world-class probiotic manufacturing.
Lactic acid bacteria are a representative strain of probiotics and play critical roles in regulating gut flora balance, boosting immunity, and preventing disease. Through its autonomous bacterial database, SYNTEK has optimized production systems for lactic acid bacteria, while SYNPACK packaging technology ensures live cell counts. These advancements have enabled Sheng He to establish high-barrier research platforms and manufacturing technologies.
Data from international market research company REGISTRARDAILY indicates that in 2021, Shenghe already ranked among the top twenty global manufacturers of lactic acid bacteria powder. The company also owns Taiwan's only 'Microbial Body & Lactobacillus Application Research Center,' providing clients with comprehensive services including probiotic R&D, manufacturing and sales.
CEO Yang Sanlian noted that while Sheng He is relatively young compared to international ingredient market giants with over a century-long history, the company continuously launches innovative products tailored for diverse markets鈥攊ncluding human health supplements, functional foods, pet care items, animal feed additives, and plant preservatives. This diversification has shielded the company from disruptions caused by tariffs such as those imposed during the Trump administration.
General Manager Yang Chuanxian emphasized that Sheng He continues to develop next-generation probiotics through in-depth analysis of microorganisms. The company collaborates across various fields鈥攊ncluding preventive medicine and clinical testing鈥攖o enhance product professionalism, application breadth, and commercial benefits; for example, while many common probiotic products focus on gut health.
Yang highlighted the 'Flagship Fleet Plan' for innovative R&D initiatives which include postbiotics (beneficial metabolites or components left after killing beneficial bacteria), kefir fermentation technology, and anti-aging probiotics. The company aims to complete multiple clinical validations by 2025 and capture high-end application markets.
According to MarketsandMarkets forecasts, the global probiotic market size is expected to reach $71 billion in 2024 and exceed $106 billion by 2029 with a compound annual growth rate of 8.2%. Euromonitor analysis predicts that the global dietary supplement market will grow from approximately US$135 billion in 2023 to about US$170 billion in 2027, where probiotics and fiber products are seen as key drivers.
