According to reports from Agence France-Presse and Reuters, when asked about specific rates on semiconductors, Trump stated: "I will announce them in a week." He also indicated some flexibility for certain companies involved.
Trump made these remarks while traveling back to Washington aboard Air Force One after departing his private estate at West Palm Beach, Florida.
On the 12th, Trump had said he would provide updates on government semiconductor tariff issues by the 14th. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency also updated guidelines for reciprocal tariffs to include exemptions such as computers, smartphones, and semiconductors.
