It remains unclear whether President Trump will participate in these meetings.
The UAE’s primary objective is securing access to advanced chips from companies like Nvidia Corp., a key component of its strategy to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence (AI) development and invest significantly in data centers for AI model training. However, earlier this year the U.S. government implemented stricter export restrictions on certain types of AI chips—including those manufactured by Nvidia—to prevent China from accessing advanced technology.
These regulations largely exempt countries such as Japan, Britain, South Korea, and The Netherlands while imposing partial limitations on nations including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
