Overview
The vivo X200 series has garnered widespread acclaim since its release. As the latest model, the X200s continues the straight-screen design of previous generations while addressing several shortcomings, resulting in a significantly improved user experience. This article will delve into various aspects of this device.
Design and Appearance
The most noticeable change to the vivo X200s' exterior is its camera module featuring a classic "biscuit head" design that creates a floating effect. It offers four color options: Straight White, Simple Black, Light Purple, and Mint Blue. The “Light Purple” variant we tested features an AG matte back cover, exuding elegance and sophistication. A cold-carved metal middle frame and camera decorative ring are designed in the same color to enhance the overall integration of the device.
The device maintains a slim 7.99mm profile and lightweight 203g weight, visually appearing thinner and providing a comfortable grip.
Display
The vivo X200s is equipped with a 6.67-inch Zeiss Master Color display that reaches a peak brightness of 800nits (manual adjustment) and supports 2160Hz full-brightness high-frequency PWM dimming. It also includes various eye protection features to reduce fatigue from prolonged use. The default color temperature is set at 6800K, warmer than most Android phones, which helps alleviate discomfort caused by extended screen time.
Furthermore, the device utilizes an under-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for a more comfortable unlocking position and eliminates the need to consciously move your finger towards the bottom of the screen. Fingerprint enrollment is also convenient and quick.
Camera Performance
The vivo X200s' camera specifications include a 1/1.56" IMX921 main sensor, a 1/1.95” IMX882 telephoto lens with periscope zoom, and a 1/2.76” JN1 ultrawide-angle lens. These lenses have been meticulously tuned by vivo to ensure consistent image quality.
The device introduces a new "Negative Film" effect that provides a unique color style characterized by cool tones and reduced saturation. It also features the “Film Live Portrait” mode, combining the Negative Film filter for portraits with an atmospheric feel.
Performance & Battery Life
Powered by the Dimensity 9400+ processor and paired with Ice-Vein Liquid VC cooling technology, the vivo X200s delivers impressive performance. In gaming, it effortlessly handles titles like Genshin Impact and Star Rail, performing exceptionally well even in high-resolution versions of Star Rail.
The device is equipped with a 6200mAh Blue Sea battery that supports both 90W wired fast charging and 40W wireless fast charging (a first for the standard X series). The rapid charging capabilities ensure sufficient power during extended shooting sessions.
