On April 20th, Red Star Capital Bureau reported that several netizens had discovered significant discrepancies between the promised earnings and their actual income after paying for AI monetization training courses promoted through live streams. These promoters claimed to teach participants how to use AI tools or software to create short videos designed to increase followers, generate traffic, and facilitate unmanned livestream sales. However, some consumers’ monthly incomes were as low as 5.41 yuan—a stark contrast to the promised “minimum monthly earnings of $760.” When attempting refunds due to unfulfilled claims or unsatisfactory service quality, customers encountered a complex web of companies involved in different stages – from live streaming rooms and contract signing to training services – making it difficult to identify a responsible party. Previously, Douyin Vice President Liang Li cautioned against believing promises of easy profits through AI unmanned livestreaming sales on Weibo.
