Kuo Zhihui on New Energy Technologies: Open to All Innovations

Today, Premier Chu Cheng-yu led various cabinet ministers in attending a legislative report and answering questions at the Legislative Yuan. Before this event, when interviewed by reporters, Minister Kuo made these statements.
Foreign media reported today that China鈥檚 People's Liberation Army has prepared more thoroughly than ever to surround Taiwan, aiming to cut off its external connections and force it into submission. When asked how long Taiwan could last in such a scenario鈥攕pecifically regarding water, electricity, food supplies during an actual conflict Premier Chu Cheng-yu stated the government had corresponding strategies but was not at liberty to specify durations.
When reporters pressed him on whether this information is classified, Kuo responded with: "Is it? It should be."
Regarding CPC's signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for Alaska LNG last week, Minister Kuo Zhuhui said that this marks an initial step in energy cooperation between Taiwan and America. He hopes they will develop positively.
As to USAIT Director Greene鈥檚 recent comments about providing comprehensive solutions including nuclear power and grid technology:
Kuo stated the Ministry of Economic Affairs welcomes discussions on all new forms of energy technologies, without rejecting any one type; regarding AIT's mentioned new energy solutions, the government would take them into consideration.
