According to CNN and other media outlets, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on the 22nd that he would reduce his involvement with the U.S. government's efficiency bureau to focus more on Tesla. In response, President Donald Trump praised Musk on the 23rd, stating, "He really helped our country, saving us a lot of money." Trump also indicated that while Musk’s departure had been anticipated, he would discuss the matter further with him. As head of the Government Efficiency Bureau, Musk had been key to cutting federal spending and reducing the number of federal employees under Trump’s leadership. Reports suggest that as a “special government employee,” Musk’s service was limited to 130 days per year, beginning January 20th, potentially concluding his term by the end of May or July.
