During CES, Nreal released the V3 AI shooting glasses priced at 1799 yuan (Beijing time). Pre-sales began on January 7th with official sales starting from January 10th. The product integrates two years of innovation in imaging and artificial intelligence technology fields while supporting triple privacy protection measures.
Nreal also showcased its latest progress in augmented reality optics, including the self-developed 'Firefly Light Engine' light engine and RayNeo Waveguide waveguide at the launch event. The RayNeo X3 Pro will be equipped with these AR display solutions to hit the market by Q2 2025.
Comprehensive Hardware Innovation
In terms of audio-visual systems, Nreal V3 is fitted with a Falcon Imaging System jointly developed by Nreal and TCL featuring an exclusive custom optical lens with five-layer coating. It supports shooting in 4K resolution as well as multiple video recording formats using the Sony IMX681 CMOS sensor.
For core processing performance, it includes Qualcomm Technologies Inc.'s Snapdragon AR1 processor that integrates HexagonTM Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and dual ISP high-speed image signal processors. In collaboration with ArcSoft for picture quality algorithms, a dedicated color style was created specifically for glasses shooting devices integrating multi-frame noise reduction, HDR capture, EIS electronic stabilization, low-light enhancement technologies.
In terms of audio experience, Nreal V3 uses 3D structural stacking technology to balance small volume and high sound quality. It adopts the newly developed custom speaker with dimensions of 9*20mm jointly created by AAC and Nreal Innovation featuring a long stroke length of 0.6mm and certified for QQ Music Premium Sound Quality 2.0.
In terms of wearing comfort, extensive ergonomic research was conducted in collaboration between Nreal Innovation and Doctor's Glasses. The V3 uses high-density 3C batteries, lightweight titanium alloy hinges, circuit optimization design with a total weight of only 39 grams to ensure balanced support for users from different head sizes featuring baby-soft nose pads.
In terms of battery life, the portable charging case can provide up to 30 hours of usage time. However, hardware performance is just a starting point; strong AI capabilities are needed for smart glasses to truly serve daily user needs.
Building an AI Capability Matrix
With advancements in large model technology, it has become clear that relying solely on these models cannot achieve true intelligent interaction. An Agent architecture must be used to enhance the decision-making ability and scene adaptability of artificial intelligence.
In terms of AI capabilities, Nreal Innovation understands a genuine 'AI agent' requires deep integration between hardware and software abilities.
Following this principle, Nreal has built an integrated AI capability matrix for its V3 glasses. For example, ChatBird is another team within Nreal Technology's self-developed social application that innovatively combines the multi-agent framework of large language models with virtual social scenarios to achieve intelligent interaction beyond simple dialogue.
Building on that foundation, Nreal V3 further collaborates exclusively and deeply with Alibaba Cloud Qitian to create an industry-first dedicated artificial intelligence model specifically designed for smart glasses. This customized model not only better understands user needs in the context of wearing glasses but also provides more precise knowledge support and decision-making basis for agents fundamentally enhancing AI eyeglasses interaction experience.
Thanks to this, Nreal V3's average response time from its AI is 1.3 seconds; with an accuracy rate as high as 98%. On top of that, the Nreal V3 will gradually roll out features such as RayNeo Radio Station, Explore World 2.0, mobile notification summary broadcast by AI, QQ Music on-demand service, AI news podcasting, full-scene recording summarization and Xiaobao QR code payment.
