According to recent research from TrendForce, NVIDIA introduced Isaac GR00T N1 at this year's GTC 2025 conference—a general-purpose humanoid robot base model. This offering includes a comprehensive dataset and multi-modal input capabilities alongside open-source features designed to help researchers train specific domain or application tasks using real synthetic data for use in GR00T N1 models, thereby accelerating research progress and shortening the time required before product launch. Under optimized AI training conditions, NVIDIA anticipates products will be released ahead of schedule, potentially boosting global humanoid robot market revenue close to $4 billion by 2028.
Other companies like Figure AI and Google have recently launched their own architectures—Helix and Gemini Robotics respectively—integrating quick reaction models with analytical thinking capabilities to enhance autonomous decision-making in robots. However, NVIDIA’s model distinguishes itself through a more complete dataset and greater deployment flexibility compared to its competitors.
NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang is confident about the development prospects of humanoid robots, viewing them as an important outlet for next-generation AI computing power. Currently, NVIDIA has established a robust product technology portfolio in this field, encompassing embedded AI computation systems used by small-to-medium sized humanoid robots and Jetson Orin NX/Nano products that balance performance with energy efficiency, alongside high-end AGX Orin models capable of up to 275 TOPS.
NVIDIA Omniverse focuses on training simulations and digital twins, which are widely adopted not only among European and American robot developers but also by major Chinese robotics companies such as UBTECH Robotics, Unitree Robotics, and Fourier Intelligence. With the open-source physics engine Newton for robots announced at GTC 2025 alongside GR00T Blueprint for generating synthetic data and Isaac GR00T N1 itself, NVIDIA has created a complete ecosystem within the field of robotics.
TrendForce’s analysis indicates that while GR00T N1 is an open-source model, training parameters are often closely linked to robot hardware configurations. Consequently, developers utilizing GR00T N1 will likely adopt NVIDIA's hardware solutions for maximum efficiency. Although NVIDIA has released this open-source model, the surrounding ecosystem remains largely closed from a business perspective—allowing NVIDIA to construct a “moat” in the humanoid robotics field similar to its established leadership through CUDA and GPUs within AI industries.
