The Tsing-Chi Foundation of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (台積電慈善基金會) announced a partnership agreement with Kyushu University (日本熊本大學) and Kyojuto town (菊陽町). This collaboration aims to establish support systems for elderly community members, as well as build an inter-institutional medical cooperation network providing comprehensive healthcare assistance to TSMC employees stationed in Kumamoto and their families.
In a press statement, Tsing-Chi Foundation Chairman Chang Shufen emphasized that health extends beyond the responsibility of hospitals, requiring collaborative efforts among enterprises, institutions, and communities. She introduced what she termed a "triangular public welfare model" (三角公益模式), leveraging Kyushu University’s resources to support longevity within Kyojuto town's community while simultaneously creating secure medical care mechanisms for overseas employees.
Chang Shufen further stated that the cooperation will benefit local residents and establish an “on-site healthcare network” involving TSMC’s Japanese doctors, hospitals affiliated with Kumamoto University (熊本大學附設醫院), and clinics near JASM plant. This network encompasses responsibilities such as medical referrals, bilingual communication points in Chinese and Japanese, emergency response integration, and daily care services designed to ensure comprehensive humanistic support.
The Tsing-Chi Foundation indicated that this "enterprise-hospital-community" triangular public welfare model will be continuously optimized, with future plans exploring its feasibility at other TSMC overseas plants and local communities.
