According to media reports and informed sources, Xiaohongshu has announced the elimination of its alternating long and short workweek schedule—commonly known as “big-small week”—with the change set to take effect following the May Day holiday. This follows similar moves by other major tech companies: Kuaishou declared in June 2021 that it would abolish the practice from July 1st, allowing employees to request overtime and receive compensation according to relevant regulations. Subsequently, in July of the same year, ByteDance issued a company-wide email announcing the end of alternating workweeks, effective August 1st, allowing employees needing additional hours to submit requests through an internal system.
